Podcast – The Way: They Devoted Themselves

We started a new series last week called The Way, which focuses on discipleship – learning to have the character and skillset of Jesus. Last week we laid the groundwork for this series by studying Jesus’ words and actions that comprise the good news he preached and lived. This is what his Gospel is – a “way” of living concretely in this world where we learn to do the things Jesus did for the reasons that he did them.
This week we focus on the actionable practice of making every effort (commitment) to do life together – not alone – as followers of Jesus’ way. This sounds and looks exactly like the way of life Jesus exemplified as he came eating and drinking in the neighborhood(s) he inhabited in his life. Discipleship can’t be consumed – we must participate in it for it to be realized in our lives.
