Wednesday Night Bible Study

We’re excited to announce a new mid-week Bible Study Course through N.T. Wright Online this Fall at West Seattle Christian. In case you haven’t heard Pastor Worth mention N.T. Wright, he often refers to him as the theological Dumbledore or Gandalf of our modern age, and quotes him often in our weekly teaching series on Sunday mornings.
This course is different than other Bible Studies as there is an online learning component in conjunction with “on the ground” discussions hosted by a facilitator here at the church. Our Bible Study facilitator for our first class at N.T. Wright Online is Wendy Vickers! Three cheers for Wendy!
We will be picking our first course soon. Our choices are: 1) Simply Jesus, 2) Galatians, or 3) Ephesians. Whichever one we pick, we’ll likely embark on the other choices at a later date. The courses in this series combine the video teachings of Prof. Wright with discussion questions designed to spark engaging small group discussion, and help us apply the lessons from the Biblical text.
We Want You To Buy In!
Every Small Group Edition course at N.T. Wright Online is offered for $14.99 per member! That’s about the same price as a typical text-only study guide. A little buy-in goes a long way towards being present for group discussions and doing the work online on your own.
Question & Answer Meeting
We will hold a brief Question & Answer Meeting on Sunday, September 15th right after worship. We will talk about enrolling online, the course we’ll start with, and what you need to do before the first discussion group meeting. We can tell you right now, that enrolling in the Small Group Edition courses have the following benefits:
- Lifetime access to course materials
- Ability to rewatch group study lectures
- Ability to review and print discussion questions in advance of group meeting
- Access to all lectures and materials for continuing learning after study group has ended
When Will the Course Start?
Our first Bible Study group discussion will be on Wednesday evening, September 25th in the Social Hall (Off our main parking lot at the back door of our Chapel – lower level). The meeting time will be announced at the Question & Answer Meeting (see above).
