Hand Copying Proverbs

Try something different with us this summer as we take on a new practice in our spiritual formation…hand copying the Bible. A little over a year ago Pastor Worth noticed his friend J.R. Briggs write a post on Facebook about asking people to join him in hand copying the book of Luke, while asking if anyone had ever done this before. Pastor Worth had actually done this before with the Psalms and wrote back to J.R. about his experience. Since then, J.R. has been a catalyst in asking others to join him in this journey (watch the video above!).
Would you join the West Seattle Christian Church family this summer as we lean into this age old practice of hand copying scripture? The summer months of June, July and August have 91 days, and there are only 915 verses in the book of Proverbs. A commitment to start hand copying roughly 10 verses of scripture a day (starting June 1st) means you will finish hand copying the entire book of Proverbs this summer. We know you will find deep insights and be glad that you participated!
