Coronavirus Precautions

March 7th, 2020 | Community Updates

We are being very careful in our precautions and preparations at the church campus regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Here is our approach at this time:

+ Common Sense: We ask everyone who comes to please wash hands and stay home if feeling sick.

+ Sanitization: We will weekly sanitize kid’s ministry toys, doorknobs and light switches and play or touchable surfaces weekly on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings. This will be done with cleaning industry grade anti-bacterial wipes and sprays. We will use the same sanitizing process for all applicable touchable surfaces in Worship Center auditorium and restrooms. We are doing our best to obtain touchless foaming anti-bacterial dispenser to mount near our main entrances and in Kids’ City, but it may be some time before well able to have them considering the high demand at the moment.

+ Communion: Beginning this Sunday, March 8th, and each Sunday following for the foreseeable future we will be using k-cup individual sealed communion cups (wafer & juice).

+ No Handshakes: We are encouraging everyone to use alternative greetings for handshakes or hugs (fist bumps, forearm or elbow bumps are okay)

+ Snack Bar: All snacks will be individually wrapped or they will be served to you. Coffee will be served by a volunteer wearing gloves (not self-serve). In other words, everything will be served instead of self-serve as much as possible. Please do not serve yourself. We appreciate your patience.

The Possible Future: We are prepared, if necessary, to go to an Online Worship Service and will do our best to notify everyone if this situation presents itself.

More Details:

+ We are keeping tabs on all the official channels about the virus, and understand that certain of our population are at greater risk and so are being advised to limit social contact, including gatherings of ten or more people. As much as is possible we want to care for and support those within the WSCC family who fall within a “greater risk’ category (e.g. due to age, precondition, pregnancy), and please know that if we move primarily to Online Worship Services, we will also always keep our door open in the Chapel for Communion and Prayers at our regularly scheduled worship time (10:00am – 11:00am).

+ When thinking about coming to our Worship Service or any other church gathering please assess your health as you would the flu. If you are sick, including fever and/or cough, please stay home. Please also let us know how can support you.

+ If, for any reason, you are needing to be set up for an extended period at home, please utilize the resources of our community. If you need a meal, please let us know. We are also a community of prayer and generosity.
